Hello.
I am a 21year old, single male.
I have a degree in Computer Science from a British University, I was born and raised in Scotland and moved to Amsterdam in The Netherlands just over a year ago.
I've spent my year in Holland working as a computer specialist with a large computer services firm.
I sent away my application for Immigration on Febraury 5th, so today is the 1month anniversary of sending it.
I haven't heard anything from the embassy in Berlin yet.
My questions are:
When I was a kid my mother applied and was granted a visa with me as a dependant, although in the end she decided not to go. I still had all the visas my family were issued and I sent them away with my new application explaining the story.
I read that the immigration authority keeps applications for 65 years so I guess the application my mother made is still there in the system somewhere in London.
Am I right in assuming that even though I am a permanent resident in Holland, the fact that there will be an existing record on me somewhere in a vault in London may delay my application....due to consultation with London which wouldn't have been required otherwise?
Although it is delayed, does the fact that I was already granted a visa before, albeit as a dependant, improve my chances in anyway?
As a young, educated man with experience in a highly desireable field, I like to think that I am the kind of person the Canadian government claims to be looking for. However I don't score anywhere near 80points under the new system. If I don't get an interview waiver before June, will my application therefore be automatically rejected, or can an officer look at who I am and decide to let me in anyway?
I've also been looking at the criteria for Quebec, they seem easier than the general program (lower processing fee, lower mandatory experience requirement). If I get rejected under the federal program, could I immediately re-apply via Quebec?......I would be happy to learn french if that would help.
