Surely there are others out there who aren't quite sure how to use this site. I have been from forum to post and back again!! I would like to introduce myself but am not sure where to start, the only " threads " I know are the ones holding my clothes together. Am I in the right place to introduce myself?:curse:

The best thing is to read the introduction on the Wiki pages at the top,
Are you hoping for Canada i see your in Normandy, if so there is lots of info in there as well, wish you well, i am sure there will be others along to greet you later when they wake up, good luck and keep in touch

You found the right place - don't worry, it'll all become second nature before too long! Welcome.

I'm not certain about that .... she never mentioned that she was actually looking at Canada ..... and the Europe/France forums don't seem to have a meet and greet section!

Is it just a grand idea for now? or do you have firmer plans???? Where in France are you and where do you think you might move to and why? Are you on your own or en famille?
Welcome to the forum!
Oops... I just saw you had posted on your own thread too!

Thank you very much for your replies . I may be bilingual, run my own pub( if small) decorate and look after four children, I still have no computer logic!! There are no evening classes where I live , 45 mins from Rouen an hour from Paris. Now that's something I really miss!
We will be holidaying in Quebec for three weeks this summer, whether we will move there..........
My grandfather and his sister emigrated to Homewood near Winnipeg just after the first World War. He returned to Hastings, took his fiancée back to the farm in Manitoba (a long old journey back then) but she couldn't stand the solitude. It's a sad story and I don't want to go into details but my granddad came back with his three year old daughter and his son of two months was adopted.
Back in the 80's I asked my family in Winnipeg about emigrating they said there was high unemployment even for carpenters (my husband). I wish now I hadn't listened.
Am very pleased to have found this forum, even if time consuming........
Busby (Name of pub ) HA HA

Hi Morwenna,
No, it's a project that is well and truly underway !
We applied in september 2006 and thought it would take about four years to finalise. We got a letter from the embassy early january requesting a heap of papers within a four month time lapse. We were very surprised but excited. We are waiting for the last few papers to arrive and send it all off. We have no idea when we will be able to move nor where to exactly (in ontario) although we have a few ideas.
We are looking at the school system.
We are a family of 4, two boys of 12 and 15.
Thanks, bye for now
