Less than four feet length of a shipping container. So not very much. Probably boxes of possessions and no furniture etc.

A standard double bed mattress is about 30 cubic feet, if that helps you visualise.

So 213 cubic feet is a pile of 7 double bed mattresses.

Thanks for that. Needed to know as trying to figure out cost of moving two double beds with mattresses with 2tvs and bits and bob that may fit into 5 big boxes.

The standard packing boxes the removal firms generally use are typically 18"x18"x20" which is 3.75 cubic feet per box.

That surely must have been on the East Coast route with CP Rail across Canada, because the Panama Canal-Pacific sea routes take 35-42 days port to port typically.

We sold all our furniture etc so it's mainly boxes of personal items and clothes/shoes.

We are taking a huge snap on tool box (minus the tools, I brought them over in my suitcase after a trip home back in July) so that probably takes up most of the room.

Currently waiting for a re quote based on us collecting our items from Edmonton as opposed to them being delivered to the house!

97C was a 'little bit snowy' this morning - there was quite a bad crash that we passed.

Kind of wet in Kelowna today - can only just see the other side of the lake and Mission Hill winery was hiding in the clouds!

Kelowna looks like a gorgeous place to migrate too , cause it's not as cold seemingly ! There are quite a few construction companies too there ! We're seriously looking at it . What's your first impressions and did anyone get a sponsored job in construction industry ? My OH is a quantity surveyor/ estimator !

We've been in Kelowna for almost 6mths now and love it, although jobs of any sort are pretty hard to come by. Friends of ours in construction do ok but AB is where the jobs are.
