Hi All,
why is it, in Canada (NS) that any work, (be it preschool teaching, school work, daycare, babysitting, nannying) it is so badly paid here? I am having to consider changing jobs and doing something that does not involve working with children, which I have done for last 21 years in Uk, and Canada. Just can't believe how bad the pay is. Moan over!

I am sorry to hear about your plight.....can't offer any solutions, unfortunately, but I'm sure you will hear fom babyblue shortly.......I know she has had major problems along similar lines.
I hope everything works out well for you all.....still glad you made the move?

How about retraining as an elementary school teacher? That way all your experience wouldn't be wasted and you would get better paid in the long run as primary school teachers are better paid in Canada than the UK.
