Default Car Rental

We are due to arrive in Calgary later this month and will require transport we thought options were we could buy a cheap run around to get us started or look for a month by month rental. Does anyone have any experience of short term car rentals on a month by month contract. Have do some online searches on normal hoilday car rentals and most prices give me a daily rate and wanted to ask others if they had rented anything over the normal couple of weeks for a standard holiday.
any advise/help welcome

Default Re: Car Rental

I've often hired cars for a month at a time. What I do is to get a list of car hire companies, Hertz, Avis, Yadda, Yadda and phone them. "Hi" I say "I'd like to rent a car for a month". They typically ask how large a car and then give a price. I check that the price is with everything waived (you need a premium credit card for this) then ask if they can do better. (They may make a price if you agree to take the Shitroen or local equivalent). I note the price, phone the next one, and call back to the cheapest one to book. I did the same when I needed a car for two months. Minivans run a little under $1,000/month.

This technique works equally well for post hole auger rentals though not quite so well, I imagine, when hiring an escort.
