Default Car Insurance for holiday in Maine + ESTA

Hello everyone!

I am travelling to Maine (Sugar Loaf) in March for a weeks holiday from Toronto. I have truck insurance for $1 million . Anybody aware if that is enough, or do I require more?

Any web links?

Thank you

How big an accident are you planning?

$1m is the minimum IMO - ICBC recommend $2m upwards, which is what I have on my own vehicles.

You mention ESTA in the subject but not in the body of your message. I'm going to guess you were going to ask about wether you need it and unless it has changed since September last year, no, it's not needed for entry to the US if you're making a land crossing.

I was advised by my insurance company (Johnson's) that $2m liability is sensible for the US.... I cross regularly though, so it makes sense for me - I'd probably be less concerned for a holiday.
