Car insurance in Alberta

Re: Car insurance in Alberta
I want to second David_Oz's experience with Canadian Direct.
Moved to them last week having only 2.5 years North American experience plus 10+years Australian driving history/no-claims = huge drop in premium versus the standard myopic treatment dished out by the other companies I dealt with.

Re: Car insurance in Alberta
Hi
We have just moved our insurance to Canadian Direct friom AMA. We arrived mid December 2009 and were advised to do everything through AMA and knowing no better did so, at $250 a month insurance. Despite various requests from Tesco we didn't have our no claims proof so they treated us as new drivers - this was on a Nissan Altima. A month ago we changed to a dodge caravan and pontiac pursuit and changed insurance company. Initially our insurance was over $6000 pa but once we had the letter confirming our no claims history it's dropped to $1500 for both cars. My husband does slightly higher than average milage for work and his premium is about $900, ths dodge caravan insurance is $600.
MYy only tip to someone coming over would be definately try to get your letter from your insurance company and if it's Tesco's good luck!!
