Car hire between provinces
#1
Does anyone know of a car hire company who will allow you to collect a car in one province and drop off in another i.e. BC - ON?
I have been looking but cannot seem find any that will allow this, apart from National who want - wait for it - $8,587.12 for a two week rental. I can reduce that by half if I drop it off at Toronto airport, rather than one close to where I live.
If I used the UK based company (who use Alamo) I used for all car hire pre moving here they allow it and it would cost £450 inclusive. But Alamo themselves will charge $3,400.00 for exactly the same?????????????
We were looking to fly to Vancouver and drive back to Ontario, but it is looking more and more unfeasible.

Try picking up and dropping off both from airports - I did a quick search and it looks like about $1500 if you go from Vancouver Airport to Toronto Airport (this was mid-September).

Jane,
last year used alamo to drive from calgary to Vancouver and were about the only ones i found who would do it online.
Another option to explore may be to fly there and put your car on the railway and pick it up when you arrive. I heard someone talking about doing that with motorbikes holidays, so maybe feasible for a car
