Morning folks,
Questions number two for the day. We are planning on flying into Calgary in a couple of weeks, staying with the in-laws for a few days, buying a car then driving up to Edmonton where we will live.
However, we haven't decided on a car yet, likely to be a VW Tiguan or Nissan Rogue. Have checked various dealers websites and they have stock available so should we want to buy them shouldn't be a problem.
However, ideally we would like to not spend out cash on the car but use ( or abuse
) their low interest rates. How long does it normally take for the credit check to be completed? My wife is Canadian and should hopefully have a decent credit history. I don't really want to get approval on every manufacturer I'm considering
Any thoughts / ideas would be great!!
Cheers

Hi,
Me and my partner bought a Kia Rio last year about a month after I landed in Ottawa (she is canadian and used to live there). We decided on the car on Monday and signed all the finance papers, they told us it was approved on Tuesday and we picked it up on Wednesday. So all in all pretty quick!
Kia arranged our Finance with Bank of Montreal for us, I had been with TD for about 6 weeks at this point and my partner is with Scotia Bank.
Hope this helps!
