We've got the M-I-L visiting, gave her the option of going to Head Smashed yesterday but she decided she wanted to go to Canmore. I've only had the briefest of visits so am a bit lost as to what is there and what to do.
Any suggestions?

Well, I recently took my in laws to Canmore, some nice little shops, we spent a considerable amount of time in a really nice quilting shop - depends what you're into

I'd rather do something far more interesting but she'll more than likely love the quilt shop

Took my mum to Canmore on Monday and we had a great time. Had a great Bagel for Lunch at Bagels at the top end of the main street and then just had a bit of a wander around.
Spent a considerable amount of time in the Dollar Store which has just relocated- great for touristy stuff to take back. We too ended up in the quilt shop but I don't think the man on the counter was too impressed by my 5 year olds new dollar store purchase (from Grandma). Perhaps quilting and guns aren't the ideal mix!
We finished our visit with a trip to Nutters. Mum couldn't resist a photo under the sign and quite enjoyed browsing around the healthfood stuff. Canmore is definately a place to potter and enjoy being in the mountains.

Enjoyed Canmore, quite a lot there and nowhere near as many tourists as Banff. Had lunch in the Bear Paw I highly recommend.
