Balckberry seem to have taken over the north american cellphone market, but still finding it hard to braek into europe. Just reading that only 100k people have got one outside north america, because txt message is more popular there, than here.
Also because previous models have been on the bulky side:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/3663780.stm
But this new one, from what I can see, should do well, as it is the same size as most mobile phones, and they are quad-bands, which should make it sellable to people that travel a lot, and the fact that it works with your email, and you can browse the web wirelessly.
The 7280 series is what we have issued to us at work. The one that came out last week in the states, is the 7100t series, and you can get it for $190 with T-mobile, not here in canada yet.

Th older models may be, but these new ones they are bringing out, looks a lot better, and for the job it does, you can't go wrong. Oh...and they are quad-band phones ( asia, europe, america, and africa ( ? ) ).

I don't know, I think I'd much prefer have a mobile phone, and then a PDA or somin' than have everything in one, but then I'm not really likely to need a puter on the hop and a mobile phone and everything, so that's why I wouldn't be interested, I prefer my toys to be good on there own rather than a jack of all trades.
Not having a go at you or anything, honest, but that's just my thought on why they ain't doing so well in europe

The problem is that the new 3G video phones from the major operators will be the next big thing (you can already get them on the 3 network, even as pay as you go). I also find It weird that in the USA they are way behind the times with the cellphones, quite a lot still have those aerials on them from the 80's.

Thanks for that Robert !
Chester.....don't mean to bust your bubble, but 3G has been out in the UK now for over a year, and aren't they the ones with the fancy showrooms all over london, with the big 3 logo and all that?
I know what you mean about the states, but that has always been the case, even widescreen TVs are not common here, its all HDTV, and many folks still have the square TVs
Also its illegal to unlock your mobile over here, not like the UK, where you can have it done down the market, or have your own equipment like I do, with the neccessary software.

People have been unlocking their phones for donkeys in the UK, so that they can use any SIM card with it, in any country you go to, as long as its a tri-band.
Yes....I have done it with my Nokia in the past, and with other phones.

Thats a very interesting page you got there buddy and yea I agree with what was said but I guess thats what business is all about - I am afraid I am a bit long in the tooth to appreciate Itunes though, but it sure did P me off the price I had to pay for a Video, a CD or DVD in the UK, I found it cheaper to order over eBay or by mail order from the US. Its like the man says - in the UK you get ripped off for just about everything you buy from fish and chips to a pint of beer.
