Its the catch 22 regarding getting a job here. You can have all the experience in the world in your career in the UK, but canadian employers are looking for experience gained in canada. No canadian experience, no canadian job, so no canadian experience......etc. It can be a major headache for a lot of newcommers, but not all.

If you are able to find a job before you arrive in Canada you should be okay; however, be prepared for (bad) jokes about your accent and the Royal Family.

I agree with the comments re UK experience not counting for much here in Canada and employers wanting 'local' experience but I think the 'Canadian experience' thing also means 'unless you have been here at least a year and shown you can take it I aint gonna trust that you are here to stay'
