Re: Canadian driving test (for current non-driver)

Do not drive at the same speed on the hwy for more than 100yds

Do not signal

Do not check blind spots

Ignore lines in the road

Blast through amber lights as if your life depends on it, when stopped at a red and the light turns green stare at it for 6-8 seconds before moving just to be sure

Do not ever thank or acknowledge any other kindness shown by another motorist

Do not let anyone change lanes or pull out of a side road

Do not drive more than 2 meters from the rear of another vehicle

As mentioned above always have a tims or cell phone in hand preferably both.

Congratulations you can now drive like a complete moron
(Dictionary defines this as any Canadian behind the wheel of a car ;);) )

Unless that's a way off then you might as well do the driving test here. It's a lot easier.

Im truly sick of driving tests!

Then you take to the roads and wonder how the hell any of these herberts passed their test. When i did my class 4 in Richmond the place was full of various SE Asian nationals who couldn't speak English and had interpreters along for the test... which i found v funny.

I honestly hate driving in Vancouver, its awful.

p.s. not saying all Asians are bad drivers. Just an observation at Richmond ICBC

I have a friend who owns an insurance company in Richmond and he told me that just by having a Richmond post code your insurance goes up dramatically. He said one of the reasons is that on average across Canada, a new car will last 15 - 18 months without getting into an accident. In Richmond it is 8 weeks.

I'm not saying this is because of Asian drivers - but I'm just saying:)

Ontario insurance is based on how many accidents there are in your locality, which is ridiculous.

I am currently collaborating with the OSL to educate drivers on safer driving.
