Canadian Bank Accounts
Planning on emigrating this summer
and possible exchanging some savings before (if the exchange rate improves.
) What is the simplest way of transferring? Thanks Jo

travlex, moneycorp, hifx and hsbc are good, you can open a hsbc sterling account and hsbc chequing account, this means you have a sterling account with hsbc in Canada which holds your pounds and they also open a chequing account in Canada which comes with a savings account and credit card, this can all be opened from the uk and it will cost you £100 to open the sterling account, also the good thing is that once the exchange rate picks up you can just go to your hsbc branch in Canada and get a good rate from your bank advisor, hope this helps.
