The topic of this thread was not triggered by the questions on this forum but by what is in the UK daily media about Canada.
For instance in Canada I can get a rough idea of what living in Mexico, USA, Caribbean, UK is like from the various media. So is there equivalent info about Canada in the UK media? Oh I see. Valid point, in that case. There is very little coverage of Candian current events in the UK press. Very little indeed. Sorry mate, I thought you were ranting about a post on here that I must have missed! BUT, it's not just Canada that doesn't get covered. And I think that's one of the reasons people move there - it is slightly off our radar. Although (sorry to be pedantic) but you get idea's about USA, Mexico, Carribean etc, they're all pretty close to you. We do get coverage of what's going on in Europe etc. |

The BBC cover events, even minor ones, from all over I expect that if anything happens in Canada they'll cover that too. |

I find it strange that the CBC news flips to the BBC around 6pm every week night. |

Been a few articles on Canada via BBC worldwide on cable. Specifically the Kandahar debacle and the recent snowstorms in South western Ontario.

I was thinking of the radio, we've given up on Canadian TV, but that's about what I'd expect. There's not much need to report "Canada experienced another day of uneventful stability".

Re: Is Canada Under The Radar?
Even when our soldiers in Afghanistan accidently shoot somebody nobody seems to notice. And we'll just apologize and take the blame for whatever it is you're doing. And then we'll let you do it again. According to American geography, Canada is at the top of the map.
We're quiet and polite and there's just something good about that. |

Not really - though I've found this great little website/forum called British Expats where one can happily discuss all things Canadian, at your leisure, without fear of ridicule - it's wonderful .... :)
