Canada Post?

How does everyone else find it?

I expected it to be slower than back home but it's getting a bit ridiculous here, my Mum posted me a couple of letters over a few weeks back and it's about 3 weeks now and they still haven't arrived, I think I have received packages from the UK quicker than this. Also my other half's Birthday is coming up and he recieved a card this morning and half of it is ripped off, he's gonna be pleased at that!

Also my other half ordered something a while ago that had been posted and it still hasn't been delivered to him.

I find the UK stuff gets to me quicker than stuff sent from Newfoundland or Ottawa!

Ive no complaints, but then I tend to get stuff sent from the UK in a week to ten days max, and havent had any problems with stuff getting damaged...

It will never be as fast as the Royal Mail, but thats just geography, and you cant really do much about that. The people themselves around here seem to go that extra mile to help, which is a plus.

Now that I have picked myself up off the floor (Canada Post being a bigger joke than even Customer Service from the Cable companies over here).

1) 'Welcome to Canada'
2) You still dont get used to the appalling service and delivery rates even after 3 years
3) Maybe the other half of OHs card will arrive just in time for the B'day and you can scotch tape them together??

Re: Canada Post?

I find Canada post aright. Just expensive. No worse than the UK postal service. I been dealing with CP for years. I have sent 1000's upon 1000's parcels. You only don't use with Canada post if they offer purolator for a parcel its just stupid expensive. Fed-Ex is better for that or they CP express post or expedited. Normally a letter sent air to the UK takes 7-14 days. I say normally 7 days so. anyways I've only every lost 2 items over 8 years. I don't think that is a bad record. When I considered how bad the UK's parcel force is is, these guy are saints.......

Re: Canada Post?

I cant say I have noticed any major delays, letters takes approx 5 days to get to the UK and the only time I had a problem was with a parcel and was supposed to go airmail but went surface mail. Mail from family takes anything from 1-3 weeks but does vary but more towards 1 week than 3

Thanks for the replies.

It's not that I'm impatient but I expected it would be here by now especially as it's only a letter and the fact I've received some parcels quicker than this. I really hope they arrive this week or else I'll be starting to panic as one of them I especially need and could do with having soon. :(

My family sent us one parcel via Air Mail from the UK which took almost 4 weeks. They then sent us a parcel by "Sea" Mail and it took a week. There is no rhyme or reason!

Also the delay can be down to customs and not Canada Post!!!

Surface mail can also sit dockside in the UK for sometime too.

It's not always Canada Post's fault.
