Well considering he seems to be out every night and has hangovers I'd say yes he is finding it easy...

There are loads in Toronto because its a big university/college city

His all in rent including cable & internet was $350/mth in the College/Bathurst area. Today the range is $450 - $600. Convenient to everything... transit, shops, night life etc. He was on minimum wage, smokes, fed & clothed himself. He says it was the best experience ever going it alone away from home.

Today he is as right as rain - lives in a one bedroom brownstone apartment St Clair/Oakwood/Vaughan Rd area paying $1100/mth utilities included. Happy as Larry.

Single in Toronto on minimum wage of $11/hr is doable, even with two part time jobs. Budget that 50% of your take home pay is your rent & the rest will cove transit, food & the extras.
Agreed... rent seems to be very reasonable compared to the price of houses... he had several rooms to chose from in decent places... he moves in to a new place on Nov 1st so I haven't seen it yet.

If you need some info I can ask him to provide you with some...just pm me and I'll work out a way of putting you guys in touch

Sounds like you can have a better life in Toronto on min. wage when compared to Vancouver.

It's doable on min. wage with no debt in Vancouver, but its a tough life with little if anything left to actually do anything, just covers the basics you need.

We don't delete threads, as the info may be useful to others searching in the future and it's not fair on those that have taken the time to post and give advice.

Closing threads we don't normally do unless there's a specific reason for it. If you can let me know why you want it closed, we'll look at it and do so if necessary. Feel free to PM me or Siouxie if you'd rather.
