There are indeed many more jobs there than I thought there would be. But they are mostly GTA and westish so the OP would have to be flexible in chosding a location, plus $20 an hour in the GTA wouldn't make life much fun.

If you look on Job Bank there are considerably fewer jobs

I am very wary of telling people that there are hundreds of jobs out there and getting there hopes up. It just Isn't the case for everywhere.

click on construction:
there are lots of ops there, just start applying, and explain what you want to do. You never know there maybe someone who can offer you something.
I just came back form Saskatoon doing construction work, They cant get enough guys out there. Lots of work

@Bats

I just think that the simple fact that 90% of housing is made from 50% wood that employment here for a chippy would be pretty much a formality. Getting a visa and having the correct qualifications is another story though.
