Hi I have been told there are good opportunities in alberta and british Columbia.
I really need to know the best route to take. I need an employer to offer a job, but I'm not even having much luck finding any jobs just red tape and jargon. What do I need to do? Can any body Help with the direction please thank you.

Opportunities for what? Your question is so open-ended as to be impossible to answer.

Have you looked at your possibilities for coming to Canada? The blue Wiki bar at the top of the page can give you all of the different methods and links to the applications etc. This really is the most helpful of websites, with a great number of supportive and knowledgeable members who are happy to help, however, your post is somewhat vague, would it be possible to flesh out your specific request a bit?

Don't forget you need to be able to prove you can speak the lingo here for PR, so an English test maybe required.

Hi flyer & welcome to the Canada thread twice

http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=807996

Let me jump in with a few questions that'll maybe help answer your questions better. In addition to what other posters have provided & given you links to as far as starting the ball rolling process - in March 2011 on the 'introduce yourself' thread you said you were looking at Australia & one reason being was 'the awful weather in the UK' Well, I tell yer the weather in Alberta can be far worse in climate extremes than the UK. As far as BC goes, well depends which part - you can be snowed in or rain on.

What would be the main reasons for you today that are any different than 2.5 years ago wanting to leave the UK now at your time of life - you being in your own business an all?

Since your children are now adults over 21, would they be accompanying you or do it on their own with any spouses/partners they may have & emigrating in their own right to Canada?

Why Canada - why not Australia?

Did you start or make an application ever to emigrate to any country?

Have you visited Canada or Australia?

If its Canada, have you looked at other options along the lines of as an entrepreneur, business person (investor or start up a business) to employ Canadians, likely be a sole proprietor/self-employed or as you indicated in the OP as a skilled worker wanting to work for someone else?

http://ca.indeed.com/m/jobs?q=Carpenter&l=Ontario#

Or sue posting many links

If you've not already done so, take a look at the Alberta & BC links below & maybe start the PNP process - good luck with whatever you decide
