Can I work in Quebec with a PR visa?
Hello,
Just curious... can I work in Quebec if I have a PR visa? I did not go through the Quebec immigration system just the Federal skilled workers visa system. Thanks, Louise |

As a PR, you have the right to live/work anywhere in Canada.

NB
Quebec-selected skilled workers Under the Canada-Quebec Accord, Quebec establishes its own immigration requirements and selects immigrants who will adapt to living in Quebec. If you want to go to Quebec as a skilled worker, you must first apply to the Quebec government for a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ). The criteria for obtaining a CSQ are determined by the Quebec government. When you are ready to apply for permanent residence, return to this section. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/quebec/ |

But if the OP is already a PR, this is meaningless - correct?
But who knows based on those? |

Thats not to say that if she became a PR in another Province then she could move to and work in Quebec without the CAQ. |

She isnt a PR so if wanting to apply for PR in Quebec then she must have a CAQ if going directly to Quebec.

If applying via PNP, I assume she would have to convince a CBSA officer that she intended to settle in the province she was nominated by. After that though, when PR is obtained, she would be free to move to Quebec if she so wished. At least that is my understanding. If she is going under FSW, can't she still land in Quebec? Or she could land anywhere else and then move to Quebec. |

My PR runs out in March 2014 so I am planning on going in January 2014. I am in the process of selling my apartment. The reason I applied for the PR is that I have lots of friends in Canada. They told me to come to Canada if I did not find another job in Switzerland.
I am bored with Switzerland for some time now so maybe this is the shove I need to move on! A simple google search would give you the information you are looking for. |

Re: Can I work in Quebec with a PR visa?
curious about the "My PR" runs out in March 2014 though. Is that when the OP needs to move back or the expiry date on the PR card?
If the latter I don't think I can take another thread a la " how can my status be in jeopardy but my card still be in date" ;) |
