New to the forum, spent lots of time getting valuable information in the past off of here. Would like to hear from anyone who has moved East from Calgary to the GTA.

Been reading this forum on and off for a couple of years.
Before I posted this question I spent a bit of time reviewing the postings made over the last year or so. My instincts were unfortunatley correct about the kind of replies I might get.
Its a pity that what was once a useful tool seems to have lost its way.
Time for me to bow out..........

You maybe don't realize as to how much Toronto is looked down upon by the majority of Canadians who don't live there.
Give it some time. Perhaps there is someone out there that can help you.

I was going to talk about my parents and siblings experiences of moving from Invermere BC (so Calgary's backyard) to Toronto, Kitchener and Montreal.

Welcome to BE.
If you've been reading the forums for a couple of years surely you know much of what's said is tongue in cheek humour? BE is still a useful tool to tens of thousands of expats and it can be for you too if you stick around, laugh a little and join in.

Despite what the OP thought, my response was a (almost) genuine reply. I don't recall anyone ever moving from Calgary to Toronto and commenting on it on this forum.

I live in Lethbridge and am seriously considering moving to the Niagra valley (albeit, not TO!) The reasons are travel.
If we want to take a short driving trip to somewhere other than Waterton, we are looking at 2 hours to Calgary. 3 hours to Great Falls...and that's pretty well it.
Flying out of Lethbridge is OBSCENE! Lethbrbridge-Calgary can cost almost $1,000 (Tango Plus)!
Whereas in the Niagra Valley you can reach three Canadian airports conveniently, plus a couple of US departure points. Further, there are a huge number of destinations within an hour or two driving time. Also, a scheduled AC Tango plus flight TO - Heathrow is just over $1,300.
So, while Lethbridge is a friendly, little (pop 86,000) town, it is not the ideal spot if you like to travel!
