I have Enmax for electricity ( http://www.enmax.com/ ) - I keep calling them Enron... Shaw for ISP/cable (http://www.shaw.ca/ ) and Telus ( http://www.telus.ca/ ) for phone.

No idea if these were poor choices, they were speedy ones. I'll watch your thread with interest!

Enmax for electricity
Direct Energy for gas
Telus for phone/internet

We were told to use these companies by the managing agents for the poperty that we rent so didn't do much research. At least they didn't treat us as lepars for being new arrivals without any credit history and we haven't had any complaints about the service

Enmax for HYDRO
Direct Energy (I think) for gas.

We use Telus for phone and ISP but whatever you do DO NOT get their high speed lite it is sooooooooooooo slow. We used to have BT Broadband in the UK and it is like being back on dial up! :scared:

We use enmax for electricity & water, direct energy for gas and have just switched from Telus to Shaw for digital phone and broadband. Shaw digital gives you 1000 inclusive minutes to the UK for $55 a month also a good deal when signing up, $29 for first 3 or 6 months I think?

Maybe outside the prairies, but west of Ontario there's no water body tall enough to generate hydro until you get to the rockies

For energy, take a look here:
http://www.customerchoice.gov.ab.ca/

You can get deals taking your electricity and gas from the same supplier.

Seeing as a large portion of power here is wind generated, and from what's been said on the 'scents' thread - you should be self sufficicient

Manitoba Hydro likely wouldn't agree with you.
