Default Calgary & Landing

Just back from a week in Calgary 'landing' my wife. Great immigration officer at Calgary who was thorough and very polite. No issues with them or customs with the paperwork. You should have seen my wife's face when he finally said "welcome to Canada"!

Weather great all week in Calgary..... 28 degrees on Saturday and set to continue. Oh the difference sunshine makes to everyday life!

Great stuff. I'm landing there in the next couple of months so hopefully it'll be just as pleasant

Hey great news and congratulations

Will be doing same thing on Sun.

Did you have to do any of the "goods to follow" lists??

I have not done it as we will only have the clothes etc that we will be traveling with until we sell the house we don't know what we are taking.

Any tips or advice - I see that you said it was pretty straight forward but what paperwork did you have apart from what CHC sent?

Cheers

If you intend to land without a goods to follow list, you do so at your own peril.

I would recommend listing everything you currently own. If you later choose not to take something, then you lose nothing. If you land in Calgary with something that was not on your list, you risk having to pay taxes on those particular items. Preparing a list is a pain, but the vast majority of us that have landed have done so.

Should have explained fully but had two kids wanting to go on something called club penguin, I am Canadian and planned to do the goods to follow list as a returning Canadian when we finally move.
Does this make a difference? If it doesn't I will be spending the next few days in front of the PC

Cheers
