I lived in cities including Calgary in Canada and London UK and I was not worried about so much about crime that it would cause me to think about moving.
I would be worried living in the States in areas such as Dallas , Washington and NY or European cities such as Amsterdam, Lisbon, Moscow(high murder rates).
Living in sleepy Oxfordshire village now, not alot go on here in the way of crime (it too quite sometimes).

Not in any way. I love the city of Calgary and very nearly chose it as our final destination. Just thought Beaverquest would feel at home with the current "crime Spree"!?!
