Hello everyone.
I don't assume that anyone would remember me but I was an electrician looking for a job in Vancouver, Anyhoo I got offered a better paying job in Calgary at a job fair so I plumped for that.
So I reckon I'm a couple of months from touchdown, and I'm wondering....which areas would be good for a 35 year old single electrician?
I'm gonna need to drive to work so I don't need to be slap bang in the middle, but obviously I'd like to be somewhere within striking distance of the action, because I'm on my lonesome.
I've had a look on Kijiji but I have no points of reference.
I reckon I could spend upto $1200 all in.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Can't help on the electrician type stuff cos my DH is in IT.
BUT the area to avoid is the NE and the northern part of the SE quadrants of the city. all other areas are pretty good though
As far as transport down town goes, parking is horrendous down there, my DH works in the downtown core and gets the bus (the 301 down centre street). Unless you actually need a vehicle it might be worth considering where is good for public transport http://www.calgarytransit.com/ there should be maps on there.
You can buy a transit pass for $75 per month which works out very good value when you compare it to parking costs.
