I suppose you could try Craigslist and Kijiji, although I've never tried them for that purpose.
You should be aware that about 95% of properties for sale in Canada are listed on the Multiple Listing Service. I would have thought most of Remax's listings were on MLS too.

If you google 'real estate+ontario' and 'for sale by owner+ontario' you will get quite a few.
You will find lots of duplication with what is on MLS but I think that if you are close to buying it is worth the slog through as MLS is often less up to date than other sites and you can find a few pearls.
