Default Buying from Brit superstore

Has anyone bought food items from Brit Superstore in Dover? If so did you have to pay customs on your goodies.
I want to order some Colmans mustard which I can't find here and Branston Pickle, the latter being $2.00 less than what I found in the supermarket. I shall pay in sterling anyway.

Their prices seem to be pretty good.

It is called Keen's in Canada/USA. Same stuff in the bottle and same manufacturer (Keen was bought out by Colman 100+ years ago). The only difference is the name on the label.

Keen as mustard.

I saw some Branston in Metro in Cobourg, didn't check out the price though as it's not gluten free so can't have it.

I am in Cobourg, and it was in Metro I saw the Branston at $4.99. No Frills don't carry it any more and they were a bit cheaper.

I thought you were down the road. I'll look out for it for you. Does that British shop not sell it?

Are you coming to the Cobourg beach meet up ?

Plus one vote for Keens. It's available in many supermarkets, like Loblaws, and it's the same as Colman's. I buy it all the time.

I had no idea. I've seen Keen's but never bought it, on the the presumption that it would be weak North American crap. I like strong mustard, me.

The Branston was over $5 in the UK shop in Peterborough so Metro is a good deal.

You can get Coleman's powdered mustard here. It's very pleasant on a ham sandwich.

It was mentioned some time ago on this forum that Branston Pickle is not the same as it is in the UK. It is made in the U.S. under license and does not taste the same.

I have never tasted either so I'm just passing on what was said.

Oo Steve, you haven't lived. Thick slices of crusty white bread, a strong sharp cheddar, unsalted butter and branston. Now that's a fine meal, maybe even fit for a ploughman.

You can get imported branston's pickle at Bulk Barn sometimes. We get most of the stuff I miss from these guys: https://www.scottishloft.com/Results...y=12&View=Show they do the bigger jar of pickle for $7.49 and they are really great people.
