Default Buying in another Province?

Hi,

We live in SK & Ikea is in AB. If we drove there to buy things & then back home, how does it work with the Provincial tax side of things?

Thanks

Nicky

You are charged GST and are supposed to self report to the provincial govt. and pay PST. Wonder how many do that!

Ahh, thank you very much.

In my naivity, I was thinking it would be like some kind of border control!

I did an order from Tesco clothing & the duty & taxes were quite high but the broker fee was worse!

Depends who you use and what you buy. I often use Fedex, who charge a small documentation fee in addition to the duties and taxes. Canada Post charge something like $10, UPS I have found to be outrageous.
