Hi Everyone

Considering kicking off a networking group in NW Calgary, not sure if there are any already around (apart from BNI and CIBN).

Was tossing up doing an expat group. Any thoughts or contacts on something like this?

Excellent, would you prefer a more formal or informal affair?

Nothing saying we can't be formal for regular meetings and informal for other events.

I think we would need 10-15 people to make it valuable for business. Same premise as other groups with only one seat per industry position. We could grow membership through starting social media pages prior to physical meetings.

Would love to have people on my side as 'executives' of the group too.

Awesome, that's 5 of us already what a great start.

I've been a member of networking groups since arriving in Calgary, the power of the expat community could be quite fruitful I think.

It may be worth an informal catchup to see what people would like to see this turn in to, getting members is always the hardest part.

I'll put some thought into a location, if anyone has a suggestion for a location let me know.

In terms of location can we have it somewhere that's not downtown? nightmare to park and everyone I know hates driving into the city!

I was looking at North West locations, there is a lack of networking events up this way (My office is in Crowfoot)
