Try STA - they are good for long term policies for travellers.
Also have a look at http://www.moneysupermarket.com/travelinsurance/...oh how I miss moneysupermarket
Good advice from roxy3 on checking to see how soon you will be covered on your provinical health care system.

Hi all!
Having read the above posts I have a quick question relating to the BUNAC insurance if I may.
As the visa is valid for 1 year, I assumed I would need to purchase a years worth of insurance? Or is it enough to buy say 3 months worth and then apply for the provincial health care? (OHIP for me)
I was unsure as to whether being on BUNAC qualifies you for health care. As mentioned above, the BUNAC quotes seem pretty pricey.

BINGO! That is the idea myfriend. You do not have to take the whole 12 months. Take the lesser and then get Provincial health cover which is free. Check on the povince you are moving to though as some are rubbish; in the sense of WHEN they will give you free health cover.
Happy days
I'm guessing BUNAC will push for people to take the full 12 months though, maybe best to plead ignorance.

The helpful man from bunac then highlighted some of the areas that are not covered on the Provincial health cover such as no air ambulance back to the uk if needed & no paying for memebers of your family to come over and see u whilst in hospital.
So a short term gain might be a long term loss, a risk im sure many will take!!
