This is the first time I am posting to Expat Channel.
Okay I had applied as a Independent to the Canadian Visa , and had applied in Jan 2002( pretty early).
i had sent in my FBI Cleearance and stuff along with that in the next month or so.
I received a letter indicating that they had received my Applicarion ( dated 4th April 2002).Since then i have not received any communication from the people.

I had 2 different quesries
1. Is it normal for Buffalo to wait this long b4 replyinh
2.I read someplace that i should apply for a FBI clearance again , if my previous clearance has been there for more than one year

BASEd on current backlogs its quite normal. Check the letter you got inititlay it will say the timeline for the next update. If they have not answered by that time you can sedn a fax to ask them.

Secon, you will probably not need another cleanrance from FBI. The first one is stamped with the date they received it.

It looks normal to me.

Applied in Sept 2001
Got a case number in Nov 2001
In Sept 2002 got an interview waiver letter and they asked for some more documents like w2, employment letter and pay stub.
Did the medical on sept 2002.
Got letter in January 2002 asking for passport.
The visa got fixed within a week.

So I think that you need to wait at least 3 months from now.
