We went on the Prairie Dog Central for a meetup in September which was cool but not been on the other one you mentioned. The other 2 restaurants are Santa Lucia (Greek/Italian) in Main Street and Casa Azteca (Mexican) in Main Street.

Hi, it's such a shame the Prairie Dog has now finished - there was some Santa trips in early December and the train was all lit up but it's now all finished. I think the Winter Wonderland thing is still going on at Red River Exhibition Centre if that sounds like something good (even us grown ups enjoyed it!!). There's a skating rink there, doughnuts and hot chocolate and a horse and carriage ride. Plus the proceeds ($15 per car) goes to the Children's Burns Unit. There are about 4 of the Bears in Broadway there also. Maybe even a tour to see if you can find all the bears could be fun! (I would love to find a map of the new locations of the bears but haven't come across one yet!)

At the Mcphillips street station they have a virtual train ride

well I came to Winnipeg In January of this past year. At the time it was -47c with the windchill.... so yeah, this is a heatwave ;)

here's me telling my family that they MUST bring warm clothes! Now I feel like a fool. :)

Tomorrow they reckon it maybe plus 6 degrees with rain. Ugh, and all that lovely white snow will turn to mush. I just hope it doesn't flash freeze after that or we'll be skating to work instead of bussing it!! ;)

Just to let you know that we have a poll to get an idea of where to meet for the Jan meetup. If you prefer not to register on the site you're still welcome to send me your choices by private message on this board. I will also need to know your email address so I can email you your invite but this address will be kept private. Invites are sent to you via 'evite.com' which allows you to view who else is going and to RSVP. The poll will close this Friday (Jan 6th). Depending on level of response and interest this may be the last brit meetup as we're winding down ready to move on May/June of this year. If however there is a lot of interest I will try and arrange a few more to keep things going until someone can take over! Damm Brit's running off and having their individual lives eh! I'll eat anywhere but My wife will only eat Steak, so which ever one has steaks on the menu is our vote.

Hiya - ooh, that's a good question. The Evite site is a seperate third party site and as host I can invite people but would have no access to their profile. I did find a FAQ page though and it has tips on what to do if you lose the password (if you remember which email account you used to register they will send a reminder there). I forgot to mention too that people will not be able to vote on the Britz site unles they're signed in so anyone having problems voting that may be the prob!

Apparantly Santa Lucia serve garlic bread with everything. Hubby felt it strange seeing fish and chips with garlic bread - ugh, perish the though!! :o
