British Passports in Edmonton... Help
Please can anyone help. We need to renew our British passports, does anyone know where we can get British Passport Photos taken? Everywhere we have tried say they can't do it. Desperately need help, we are due to travel beginning of August (this year!) Thanks Nametski

Can you not just use a photo booth?

We did our own photos. Did them at home with a digital camera and cropped using http://www.epassportphoto.com/ We then printed them (on decent paper) at a local photo processing shope for 35p and sent them off. It was very easy to do!

Thanks everyone. Don't mean to worry you but the ones we had done at the AMA were too big. They would just get rejected. The paper has to be plain white with no watermarks. We shall try doing our own. Thanks guys!! Have a great summer!

Go to a Blacks. They have a little list hidden away with all the various measurements and requirements (for numerous countries!) and will know what you need - and will offer a refund if the photos get rejected.
Edit - Googles shows at least three stores in Edmonton
1 - 11830 111 Ave NW
2 - 304 Southgate Shopping Centre NW
3 - Phase 3 1522 West Edmonton Mall

Thanks Ann, I have rung Blacks but the paper they use has printed watermark name on the back. So no use for UK passports. I shall keep trying.

You should really just do it your self. It is really easy!
I have done two passports this way and will soon do another.
C$1 per passport (or realistically even less!)

Thanks, yes I want to do it ourselves but, my other half seems to think they won't accept it. We don't really have time to have them rejected, but anything is better than nothing eh! Thanks

Mine seem fine, they just need a little trim but the photo its self is correct

Re: British Passports in Edmonton... Help
I'm a little confused by this thread
I have always used a photo booth for any passport photo.
The ones at West Ed Mall are $4 for four photos.
I looked at the British Passport website and it states
be 45 millimetres high x 35 millimetres wide - this is the standard size when you have a passport photo taken in a photo booth or studio (you should not trim a larger photograph to meet this condition)
here's the link http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAn...tion/DG_174152

I should add that the British passport people are not nearly so picky about photos as the Canadian passport folks.
