Default British Isles Show

Anyone going to the British Isles Show next weekend (16,17,18) in Toronto? I might go, have not been for years and is the anniversary this year, might be good. Sean and Becky are there, I don't know, guess I am still undecided. I don't understand the term they have Fan 590, that must be the times you meet the Corrie celebs?

Fan 590 is, I believe, a radio station. It's mainly for people who don't have air conditioning and concentrates on wafting issues.

What do you mean dbd33 about air conditioning and wafting issues? I thought wafting meant floating.

The word wafting is really rafting spoken by someone with a speech impediment. " I think I'll go wafting down the wiver".

Floating the duvet with a flapping motion, perhaps.

Is this for real? Jeez, I'm glad to see that you've settled into the GTA. (If St. Catherines or Barrie, both of which are OK I suppose) are countable as the GTA).

The Fan is a sports talk AM radio station, broadcasting at 590 on your AM dial.

Corrie is a soap. There are no celebs.

I wouldn't mind seeing Becky, if you know what I mean.

The responses to my question on the Fan 590 were so crazy. dbd33 and Auld Yin, you are funny, made me laugh, thank you for that.

Corrie is a soap. There are no celebs.

Try telling that to the thousands of Brits who regularly turnout to see the (non) celebs of Corrie open supermarkets, garden fetes etc, and of course turn up every year at the British Isles Show here.

I went to one of them several years ago. The fish & chips were rubbish as was the Watney's Red Barrel.

If there was a corrie celeb there I wouldn't have noticed, but had I noticed I would have pointed and laughed at their pretension and stupidity.

I went once, back when Sunday mornings were lost to the recap of Coronation Street. I rather enjoyed it but it takes a suspension of disbelief. It requires the same sort of frame of mind in which one can enjoy seeing London Bridge reconstructed in the desert.

Well put. I think I've mentioned this before, but the OH bought a large jar of branston pickle at the BI show, but then dropped it in the concrete parking lot.

This of course was my fault.
