Default British guy looking to emigrate!

Hi all,

New to forums and looking for some advice please.
I have been looking at some jobs online based in Canada and was wondering if I have any hope of obtaining a sponsored visa?
I am 28 have 11 GCSE's, 1 A Level, NVQ level 2 in hospitality and management and I have recently been certificated in leadership and management.
Work experience is as follows: 6 years retail management and 4 years in local government as a benefits assessor.
I have generally been looking at jobs in retail management and admin roles.
Do I have any chance of sponsorship or does anybody know of a company who would like to employ a Brit with experience, passion and a willingness to progress? I can send a CV if anyone's interested!
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Matty

I've just received an offer to transfer to Sudbury through my company (I work in IT), prior to that when I talked to recruiters about getting sponsorship for my TWP the response was pretty much no chance if you're not on the skills list. The employer has to prove a Canadian can't do the job hence why you are needed. I would think this is highly unlikely for management/admin roles (just IMO).

I did read you could possibly transfer if you moved into full time education - but you'd need funds for this.

One option you could consider (wasn't open to me, I'm 37 but my partner aged 28 used this) is look at countries offering the youth visa. New Zealand was one, I'm not sure about Canada, but it basically offers people under the age of 31 a 2 year visa to live and work/study and the acceptance criteria is extremely light. Could give you options you've not considered. Good luck!

have a look at the IEC visa, lets people under age 30 go over on a 1 year working holiday with an option to extend a 2nd year, there are none left for this year but next years will open in Nov/Dec /Jan probably.
