Thanks for the tips both. Local branches of Coles etc don't have a copy of the book (which looks perfect), so will try some independents or feed my Amazon habit.

Lol... When I moved to the city, I found a good way to find groups to do hiking is to join meetup groups, www.meetup.com

I joined the boardgame one and the hiking one

We have put an ad out on Kijiji as well as BE.

We don't mind if people have kidlets, we are just keen to get out there and meet other people and have a good day in the mountains.

And no macadian, we are not looking to share any other activities with people we have just met other than hiking:0) but at least it grabbed people's attention!!
