But again, Woob, the lower mainland is not all of BC. And definitely it is not all of Canada.

I have lived on the lower mainland and it was one of my least favourite places I've ever lived. However, I'm born and raised in Southern Ontario and would quite happily move back there some day. I would also happily move to Montreal, but the old man doesn't speak a single word of French and he's content in Australia.

I really think you need to take a look at moving somewhere else in Canada or perhaps home. It sounds like you're really unhappy where you are and if you have the opportunity to change your location why wouldn't you? What does your partner think of moving?
