Hi Folks,
Hubby is flying out this weekend for a few days to look at various properties.
We especially like the look of one 20 minutes from Bridgewater & would love to hear the 'pros & cons' & any other opinions from those already living there or the surrounding area.
Thanks in advance,
Arris

hi
Have been through Bridgewater a few times when we have headed out to Lunenberg and Mahone Bay for the day, nice area and seems to have good amenties.
For me it would depend on what you are looking at work wise etc, Bridgewater itself to Halifax is over an hours drive, is this house 20 mins towards Halifax or further away?
If you are not looking for work that is likely to be based in Halifax then you can afford to be a lot more flexible with your location.

Cheers Flogger,
We did spend some time last year visiting Chester & Mahone Bay, very pretty, but didn't go Bridgewater way.
Work wise neither of us need to be really close to Halifax so no problem there.

Hello,
We live about half an hour west of Bridgewater. It is a nice enough town in a lovely setting on a big river with a nice mix of small and large shops. Having said that we only really go there if we have to. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that I don't like, it just seems to have no real town centre or "heart" and we prefer to shop in Liverpool.
In terms of housing, there again is a mix, but there are some really lovely areas with nice old houses (good prices too). There are also some pretty poor areas. Although I don't live there or go out there in the evenings I get the impression it is a pretty safe place.
But the real bonus of the area for us is the proximity to some lovely coastlines south along the lighthouse route, some amazing lakes and rivers which we swim in all the time and of course the national and provincial parks that are nearby.
Where abouts are you looking? I might be able to be a bit more specific (might even know the house - we've looked at a lot recently!).
