Question brickie needs advice

I need some advice.. Has any bricklayers moved from UK to Canada and carried on there trade in Canada.
I am a bricklayer/ construction worker who is hopefully starting work in BC and was wondering if the rules, regulations and work structure is similar to ours in uk, or is it completely different.

I haven't seen many brick buildings on my travels yet, so I imagine it is quite different. A lot of professions/trades in Canada seem to require an equivalency test before you can work, I'm sure some of the experts would know.
