Default Brampton a good place for a recci?

Hi all,

Looks as if we will be heading over to Canada for a 3-month career break

We are considering staying in Brampton as we could travel to Waterloo, kitchener, Toronto.

Anyone have any comments as to whether this is a good choice?

Much appreciated!

Hi Budy

I've been over that side of Canada 7 - 8 times, however once i went to the west side of the country it blew me away....3 months in BC and Alberta will be well worth it from my experiance.

hi Buddy,

If you want to live in a setup which has many indians mainly Punjabi's the n Brampton is the best place..

it is hardly 15 mins drive to airport and 45 mins to Toronto 10 mins to missusaga....(the next city)..

Brampton has its own charm with many beautiful parks/rec centres and a Well /decent maintained city...

It has a lot of industrial units and is wide spread....and well connected with Highways...so commutaiton is not a problem..

It all depends on what you want to do that will decide in choosing the place..

I am resident of brampton as i work here and it has been keeping me happy..:-)

Hi,

We stayed Brampton in May 2009. We didn't like it much, it seemed like a bit of a depressed area to us. maybe it was just where we were staying I don't know but I wouldn't go back and certainly wouldn't live there.

We visited Toronto, Waterloo, and Kitchener (which were nice) from Brampton relatively easily so in that respect it's ok. We also drove to Niagara.

We also visited Vancouver and the surrounding areas in October 2009 which was absolutely amazing, to us there was no comparison. So much nicer, so much more to do.

But each to their own!

Thank you all so much for your responses - much appreciated.

We are still figuring out where in Canada, we've picked Ontario region as thats where we've been told my OH has the most likely chance of getting employment (telecoms software developer).

It's really hard to choose where to go on this recci. I thought Brampton would be a good place due to location and proximity to other major cities.
