Booking ticket to Toronto on the IEC visa.
#1
Hi guys,
My name is Stephen aged 28 years old and I am on the verge of booking my ticket to Toronto and I've decided that Tuesday 18th September sounds like a good date to pick, which gives me roughly 5 weeks to get anything in order. I will be coming on the IEC visa and I was very keen in finding out if anyone will be travelling on that date. I am planning to travel from Manchester by myself but ideally I would like company.
I am interested in making friends before I go or even when I touch down in Toronto. Living in big city like Toronto can be very daunting so I'm asking if any one wants any company then let me know.
Many thanks.

Hi,
Yeah I'll definitely bare that in mind. When is it your likely to arrive? I've booked my ticket to Toronto for Tuesday 18th September but I'm still unsure which hostel to go for? I heard the Canadiana hostel is nice then I hear Clarence Castle is nice so I am so torn which to go for.
Can any one recommend a good hostel?

Good luck to you both
I'd be interested to hear how you're getting on after you've settle, since I'll hopefully be in your positions this time next year!

Hi,
I've booked my ticket and my short term accommodation whilst I find a flat to share for the long term. Any way I'm now at that stage of thinking about jobs and I'd like to find out where are best places to seek work.
I was thinking of using recruitment agencies to find work but where else could I turn to?

Hi again,
I've managed just to book about everything and I will be staying at the Planet Traveler for 10 nights whilst I find something more permanent. Is any one staying at the same hostel from Tuesday 18th September? It would be fantastic if any one wants to hang out as I will be travelling to Toronto all by myself and I will be a complete loner :-(
Thanks!!

It took me 2 weeks to find place to live as I wasn't too happy with the places I checked out. Most landlords will require you to pay first and last month's rent in advance and some places will require you to have full-time employment and references from previous landlords to proof you can pay your rent on time and you won't mess around with the them.
I used Craiglist and Kijiji as my tools for searching for places to rent.
