Its cheaper from downtown (99% of the time), get someone to pick you up from the airport and take you to the downtown branch.

Re: Booked Flights
Gosh, it's real now!
Guess the next 5 weeks will fly by. Have you decided what to do about all your furniture? Without your OH there there are tough decisions to make about what to take. Is a shipping company going to pack for you? Must be extra hard when you still have the kids to sort out too. Hope you manage without too many tears of frustration! Like many others I can feel loads of excitement and anticipation for you. Robin x |
Re: Booked Flights
Good Luck Mandi Moo - hope everything goes smoothly for you.
A couple of years back we gambled with the Priceline website and ended up with a Holiday Inn for a week south of town (Macleod Trail?) for £19 a night for the room! I recall that there are also those "suite hotels" where its kinda like a hotel buit self catering and the rates are a bit better than for your usual hotels. Keep us posted on how it all goes. Cheers Flossie |

Congratulations, I bet you are soooo excited. My husband and I have just started what I am sure is going to be a long drawn out process to emigrate to Calgary, so I'll be looking out for your posts to update on how you're getting one.
What road are you going down to move to Canada ie..work permit, perm res etc. Mandi :D |
Re: Booked Flights
Hi Mandy,
My husband is just filling in the application for Calgary police - he's a copper over here with 5 years under his belt, so hopefully they'll be interested! We're now in the process of trying to think of 10 people who aren't family or connected with his work to give as personal references...and we thought we wouldn't have to tell anyone at this early stage:ohmy: I know we've got a long way to go but I am finding this site incredibly helpful - already clued up on flying out the dogs, had a good look at real estate, been checking out monster.ca to see what kind of work I can get....all I can say is he'd better get the job!! I really do wish you loads of luck, it must be a strange mix of excitement, abject fear and a little sadness at leaving? |

Book B&B called Tuxedo House just North of the River. 21st St or something like that. Very nice, close enough to the center and cheap.
