BOO! !! We're Back

WoW - Another eventful journey, but this move not quite as bad as the last
- We decided to chuck it all in again as some of you will recall....... Having been in (Near) Winnipeg for about 16months we decided that Ontario was our calling and so we sold our house, chucked in perfectly good jobs, put all the furniture in storage and drove for 3 days East.
What a fabulous journey, such wilderness (in places) and just enough fuel stations~~
We had no house to move into and had bought a brand new travel trailer (Caravan) before we set off.
We set up at a camp ground in the area we wanted to be and went house hunting......
We just loved this bit - Friday viewed a house, Friday evening had our offer accepted - Monday, home inspections, well test etc..... Reduced our offer Monday afternoon, had the reduced offer accepted Monday evening, MOVED IN 10 DAYS LATER !!
The house was initially un-inhabitable, and we lived in the travel trailer on the drive for a few weeks..... But here we are just over a month from when we left Winnipeg, getting ourselves sorted again. No jobs as yet but John is working full time sorting the house out, all new water treatment, all new electrics, plumbing, heating, air con, new floors and walls and drainage etc. But it's on a fabulous plot in a great area, and we love it. We have moved into the main floor of the house now and the basement is a building site. Keeping the local Home Hardware in business for a few weeks!!!
Cheers Guys,
J & A

WOW!
Just WoW! I think I just long that "pioneering" / adventurous spirit, I I had it I think, and sort of trying to catch it back, but now we have children (2 little girly kiddies) and I guess am just a bit scared... we wouldn't be able to "survive" well enough I guess...
How "difficult" was it all? Do you do that with children tagging along too? The caravan sounds good, how are those vehicles coming over there? (we are still in UK, but got our PR V already) in term of prices... conveniences... comfort... (< thinking of the colder weather too)
Thank you if you can spare a bit of your precious time adventuring, rebuilding a new "nest"...

From: London, UK but want to be in Seeleys Bay

So did you end up in Kingston? Just being nosey too - yes we would all like to see before and after pictures of the house! We have a cottage in Seeley's Bay about 25 mins north of Kingston on H15 - so interested in where you bought.

Sounds like a fantastic adventure. Hope jobs are found very soon for you. Good luck with renovating the house.
