Default Boat to Canada

Strange question this one, but I cant find the answer on the net.

My dad does not want to fly can you get a boat from the UK to Canada (Toronto) he knows it could take a few days but can it be done.

Does anyone know?

Cheers

Just a thought - surely the cheapest and most direct route would be Ship - UK to New York, and a train from New York to Toronto?

Basically you can cross on a cruise ship or catch a ride on a cargo ship.

The QE2 takes about 6 days and cargo ship takes anywhere from 8 days to a couple of weeks (depending on the route). This is assuming you go as a passenger and not hauled up in a container with your worldly possessions, some reading material and a bucket - though it's probably been done!

yes it has...brother is a cab driver..picked a lady up from a port here in liverpool (seaforth) took her 8 weeks tho from USA. She read her book and ate with the captain..said she loved it. He took her straight to Immigration Offices in order to have her passport stamped. It took 8 weeks as it did it a detour to drop off some cargo. Can be done tho. It's more expensive tho too unfortunately

erm..i might check on that for you...8 weeks? I'm sure thats what he said lol
