Post Becoming Permanent Resident

Hi new on here so going to ask a few questions on the above
We have had our forms sent back and now in the process of resending reason for sending back husband now has to take an english exam to prove he can speak english - we are from scotland and this is our first language this was not in the forms we sent to them in the first instance and nothing on the website when we ran them off hence now we have to save even mor monies to do this. Is there anyway round this or do we have to take this test. We are getting nowhere with the government

Just a note of caution, before you spend more of that hard saved money....

There are many threads on here that estimate that the cost of PR and the move to Canada is $25k to $40k. If you are saving for the IELTS fees, you had better start getting some overtime in to pay for the other costs. Only trying to help.fletch

If you mean turnaround for UK police certificates, we had ours in 10-14 days

yeah hubby got a job through his work so most was paid for whew cost is astonishing, but we need to have more security here for the kids hence the premenant residency. Just taking a time to get all the paperwork again to resend and to find the rest of the money for the exam! We will get there though.
