Tho they're not exactly running amok in the streets, killing people.
Local radio this morning advised people not to get close to photograph or pet them. Really ?

Rich.
There is a fascinating book on the subject in Mosaic Books on Bernard Ave.
Last time we went to Canda a few years ago, we got stopped by a "bear jam" and people were getting up real close to take photos of a mother and cub.
Plus, there is the story of the lady who put honey on her child's hand so that she could experience feeding a bear.......

People like that need their heads twisted off... pisses me off how stupid people can be and then the bears suffer the consequences of some dimwit's lack of brain cells. Not very often am I saddened by people getting mauled by bears because in reality most, not all, people that get mauled are simply deserving of it. imo.
