I have just been looking at the thread to do with sky t.v. Anyhow I have a question, I am currently listening to Steve Wright in the afternoon on line, is there anyway to get Radio 2 in Canada without using a computer. i.e. do any of these satellite radio gadgets do the job?

I was in Alberta recently and got BBC Radio 1 on satellite radio but couldn't find radio 2, It was chris moyles on radio 1 so i didn't leave it on

Sirius Satellite Radio had BBC Radio 1 and of course Howard Stern! It costs $15 per month plus $50 and upwards for the hardware. It can be purchased from Future Shop.

If you want to listen to radio two out and about then this won't work, but if you just want to listen in and around the house without using your computer you could use a wifi radio but it would be expensive if you are not already using a wireless network in your house.

You would need a wireless access point for your internet connection to plug in to. That would allow wireless devices to connect to the internet regardless of whether your pc is turn on.

Roku make a radio that will play radio stations over this wireless link by connecting to the internet without your PC. It will only work within range of your network though which will vary depending on equipment you had and layout of your house.

OOOhhhh! Thank you, we have a wireless thingy set up, looks like i'll be making a purchase!!!! Radio 1 is a bit too trendy fo me these days so getting radio 2 without having to have a computer upstairs will be so cool, I is happy

Glad I could be of assistance, although I must point out that I have never seen the technology in action so I do not know how well it works. Although that said I will probably get one of Rokus network music players myself when i have a few spare pennies. Best Buy sell the M2000 and it looks quite impressive.
