I am in US for the past 20 months on H1-B. But my wife being on H4 visa cannot work. So I am thinking of immigrating to Canada. I am in IT with more than 7 years of work experience. I found that all of the documents required, experience certificates seem to be the most important documents that need to be submitted. I have those certificates for all my previous companies. But I have got an impression that these certificates need to be submitted in original. Is this correct? If this true, I have to give up. There is no way I can manage new documents to prove my work experience. My first company no longer exist. My 2nd company exists as of now but is not doing well and may go out of business anytime. My 3rd company has undergone a name change. I am working in 4th company in US.Do you think it is going to be worth filing an application.

Only Police Certificates need to be original (and of course the payment).
All others can be copies or certified true copies if required.
Sometimes, if documents can be easily replaced, we send originals because the
letterhead may be impressive. Certainly do not send any original that you cannot
stand to lose since it may not be returned.
