Would any of the ex visa officers be able to answer this question:

my husband is the principal applicant in a skilled worker application being processed in London. It was only submitted in May, so could have some way to go yet. We understand that at some point the visa officer will call his office to verify a few details. While this in itself shouldn't be a problem, it could be. Just today, 14 people in his company were made redundant with immediate effect ( he works for a trading company and apparently they tend to give notice on the day rather than giving weeks notice)!! In the current economic climate, we are worried that if they get a call from CIC & realise his plans, he could be next on the list as he obviously isn't planning to stay & that could even be before Christmas, though probably unlikely. Is there any way we can request that this call isn't made unless the app is deemed successful or is that just a ridiculous request? To be honest I think I know the answer you are going to give me.......
