You appear to have difficulty reading beyond the first half a dozen words of my posts.

Here's what you didn't appear to see in one:

I'm sure The Aviator didn't mean it literally, hence my wink in the post.
And another:

I think that's pretty clear that I am saying there are certain limitations involved.

Every time I mentioned it I qualified it with clear references to selecting employees based on gender, race etc. in other words the discrimation that I referred to in the post that drew your witty
What a load of bollocks.
response.

Yes employers are free to discriminate on race, gender, sexuality, age, marital status, eye colour, hair colour, the size of your tits, basically anything they like.

The onus is ON YOU to PROVE that such discrimation took place.

We are booked on Gatwick to Orlando flight 24 Dec. (ear plugs are already in hand luggage) We are guessing that staff who volunteer for the Xmas Florida flight in the first place will not want to cancel their Xmas arrangements at this late stage. If the flight goes there will be loads of people from other cancelled flights tryinig to get on it. We'll be out all of Jan and have our own home in Florida so delay is not so cruicial to us so we've already decided if they are asking for people to be bumped off we will offer our seats but only if we get to chose who gets them, like elderly parents travelling to see grandkids at christmas. I'm not giving it up just so BA can switch a high priced 1st class ticket onto the flight.

Anyway, I think the cabin crew are being greedy. We are all in the global financial doo doo . I have taken a 10% pay cut last year and a further cut this year and have to do some work formerly done by temporary staff that were let go. It's what you have to do to keep your company and Job going.

When I do get a flight that little button to call the cabin crew is going to get a hammering - reasonableness works both ways.

My daughter is flying over to Calgary on the 19th with BA. The flight here should be ok, but she may have a problem getting back to the UK.

She missed out on coming over last year when Zoom went bust.

I'm glad she's going to at least get here......and any delay in her going back is a bonus for me! She's more worried about missing out on some parties!

If all of those statements are correct, then it just makes this strike even more of a joke. I really hope it gets cancelled or at the least my flight goes, else I am not sure what I am going to do, I have paid for a hotel room and to have to start trying to claim money back is a hassel I really don't need right now.

I don't know why I bothered to confirm suspicions that came from the Mail.

I'm sure they could do the same hatchet job for most members of BE.

They could even make me look wealthy and privileged.

I believe those salary numbers come from the CAA, who should know what they're talking about.

However, the '900 hours of work' is misleading, since I believe that's only actual flying hours, and not total hours worked.

I wonder how long is spent applying all that make-up? And how long is spent by the female cabin crew doing the same?

I don't think they have much choice about the makeup. I believe there to be rules that must be adhered to.
